Virtual Therapy Groups for Adults, Children, and, Teens in the State of Pennsylvania

Therapeutic D&D Style Gaming Groups for Adults & Teens

Quest Connection is an 8 to 10 week virtual therapeutic group for adults (18+) and teens (13-17). This group uses a simplified tabletop role playing game, similar to Dungeons & Dragons, to help members build real world skills in an engaging and imaginative setting. Guided by therapist Angela Piecyk, LAPC, each session blends collaborative storytelling with guided reflection to create a cozy and adventurous space for growth.

This group is specifically designed to be a welcoming and affirming community. It is particularly helpful for individuals with ADHD, Autism (ASD), social anxiety, depression, or those exploring their identity. It is an ideal fit for anyone looking to find community, connect with others in nerd culture, improve social confidence, or try a creative alternative to traditional talk therapy.

In each session, members create characters and work together to navigate a shared story. This process naturally builds communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills. The group provides a structured yet flexible environment to practice emotional regulation, empathy, and perspective taking in a fun and low pressure way. The fictional world acts as a safe space to explore different parts of yourself, build social connections, and develop confidence that translates beyond the game.

No prior gaming experience is needed. The focus is on connection, creativity, and personal exploration within a supportive and affirming group dynamic. If you are looking for a different kind of therapeutic experience that is both fun and meaningful, this group is for you.

Minecraft Play Therapy Group for Children

ConnectionCraft is a 10 week virtual play therapy group experience for children ages 8 to 12. This group uses the familiar and creative world of Minecraft as a therapeutic tool to help kids practice social and emotional skills in a fun, supervised space. Led by therapist Angela Piecyk LAPC, each session blends structured activities with guided play to support growth and connection.

This group is designed to be engaging and kid friendly. Through cooperative gameplay, children build important skills in a natural and low pressure environment. Kids will work together on team projects, participate in roleplay scenarios, and create sandtray style scenes to express emotions. These activities help children practice teamwork, communication, and problem solving while learning to understand and manage their feelings.

The Minecraft world provides a safe digital space for kids to explore social interactions, express themselves creatively, and practice perspective taking with peers. The group format helps build social confidence and supports emotional regulation in a way that feels like play. This is an excellent option for children who may benefit from a dynamic and interactive approach to developing their social skills.

If your child loves Minecraft and could use support with friendship skills, emotional awareness, or confidence, this group offers a unique and effective way to learn and grow. Reach out to discuss joining an upcoming group cycle.

Groups are run on a rolling basis based on overall interest. Once I have enough interested people to fill a group I reach out to everyone individually to set up consultations, choose the start date and the day and time for weekly sessions, then start official sign ups. Once you are officially signed up I will give you updates at least once a week.

Group Information and FAQ

Why is there no set start date or information about the day and time groups are taking place?

My approach to forming groups is a bit unique. All groups run on a rolling basis based on overall interest (the number of people on the waitlist for each group). Once I have enough people on the waitlist to form a group I start reaching out to everyone to see if they are still interested and see how availability lines up. I base the time on what works best for the most people. I sign up those who are still interested to confirm their attendance. I do this so I can reach as many people as possible!

How do I know if the groups listed here are still running?

All the groups listed on this page are running in the sense that I am always actively recruiting and preparing to start the next group.

How much does it cost?

All of the groups are $40-$60 a session sliding scale. This means you pay what you can within this range.

What if I still can't afford the group?

If you can not afford $40-$60 a session join the waitlist anyway! Very often in a pinch I will accept lower fees (sometimes even $10!) in the very common scenario where I am short one or two people. Dropouts are also common in groups this is why I accept new people within the first two sessions for each group. When someone drops out I ask those remaining on the waitlist if they would like to fill the open spot. Being short/dropouts can prevent the group from getting started/continuing so it is very likely that you will be able to join the group anyway even if you only able to pay below the sliding scale range.

If I am a little above or below the recommended age range can I still join the group?

Yes and no. Those over 17 years old are unable to join the Teen and Children's groups but as long as you are under 18 years old in many situations if you are a child or teen slightly above or below the recommended age ranges you may still be able to join the group. We can determine if the group would be a good fit for you during our 15 minute consultation.

Are children able to join the Teen D&D group?

Sometimes. After running the D&D group with adults multiple times I have found that using the technology takes a little getting used to even for adults! The technical difficulty of playing D&D in the online format makes it inappropriate for a children in most cases. Although, especially mature and technically skilled children may be successful with the format.

I love the idea of this group and want to spread the word! Can I share it?

Yes! You can click the buttons below to download printable PDF versions of the flyers!

How long do the groups run?

The groups I run can have different lengths but most are around 10 weeks. Group sessions take place weekly for the full duration of weeks determined at the start. For the D&D groups, if all or most participants decide they want to continue we can move on to the next module taking around an additional 10 weeks to complete.

Where is the group located?

Virtual! As long as you have a device to join video calls and live in PA you can participate in the group anywhere in a secure and private location.
